Which One is Better? Facebook or Google Ads?

When it comes to advertising on the internet, there are 2 leading platforms that you can advertise your business on; Facebook ads and Google ads. The question is for most people especially for business owners who are looking to take their marketing to the next level, which one is better and which platform will give me the best ROI? Well, my answer may surprise you and some may disagree to what I say regarding this topic. But nonetheless, let’s take a closer look at the advantages and disadvantages of these two and I’ll give my honest take to which I would use for my business.

Facebook’s Advantage #1: Low Cost Per Lead

Facebook has been dominant in the world of social media marketing for many years now. It is the go-to platform for many advertisers and one reason is the low cost per lead. If you are a business owner looking to acquire affordable leads, Facebook is the place. And this is not only speaking on behalf of other advertisers out there but this is also based on my own personal experience.

Facebook Advantage #2: Facebook Pixel

Not a lot of advertising platforms out there provide user engagement and behavior tracking. With Facebook’s Pixel, your website visitors’ behavior and how they interact with your landing page or website will be stored within the Pixel. Facebook will then use this data to show your ads to similar people and who are more likely to convert and submit their information from your landing page or website. The low cost per lead on Facebook is the result of the Pixel being stored/embedded within your landing page or website. Check out this page on how to create and set up your Facebook Pixel.

Facebook’s Disadvantage #1: Very Saturated

With its popularity comes with people swarming to create their ads and get a piece of the pie. This creates a saturated environment and it’s getting crowded. Your ad will be buried underneath the newsfeed if your ads are not optimized and are not targeting the right audience. Be sure that your ads are set up for success so you can achieve a very low cost per lead.

Google’s Advantage #1: People Are Already Searching For Your Business

On Facebook, people are just scrolling on their mobile or desktop devices when they come across your ad. With Google Ads, reassured that your ad will only be shown to those who are already searching and looking for your service or product. These are hot leads ready to be your customers. Be sure that you have a great sales pitch.

Google’s Disadvantage #1: Not Everyone Is Your Potential Customers

And by not everyone is your potential customers, I mean bots and your competitors. With the invention of the internet, there are some bots out there who are constantly crawling the internet for information. Google is also searching the internet to add new information from your site to their search engine.

Conclusion

So which one is better? Facebook ads or Google ads? Well, it depends on your end goal. Do you need affordable leads and better tracking? Facebook may be the right one for you. While Google provides hot prospects ready to convert as your paying customers. There is also a difference between the two when it comes to being charged: Facebook charges per impression, meaning when a person (unique) sees your ad, while Google charges every time someone clicks your ad in the search list.

Both can provide a great return on investment when the ads are set up properly. What about you? Which platform do you currently use to advertise your business?
